Regardless with the medical care industry, money is almost always prioritized. If you live in a nation with "free market based" health care, at this point you likely pay a bundle for fairly routine procedures. Many hospitals in the U.S. are for profit. Many organizations and associations whose name goes with a disease or condition take in a great deal of money but are no closer to curing cancer, diabetes, heart disease, etc. Yet the people leading these same organizations drive expensive cars and live in huge homes.
If you have government provided health care than you or someone likely has that same government trying to decide for you whether you actually need that procedure and when it can happen.
