As our current President signs executive orders mandating that everyone who works for or does business with the federal government get vaccinated and that businesses with over 100 employees order those same employees get vaccinated, we again see that the rules don't apply equally. This of course is not a new thing. During the first go round with Covid-19, mandates, lockdowns, and shutdowns, we saw repeatedly instances in which governors, mayors, and other federal politicians openly defied their own orders and recommendations. They got their hair done at salons that supposedly had to close down because they were nonessential. They dined at restaurants that weren't supposed to be open for such things. They hosted or went to birthday parties unmasked and without social distancing.
Last night there was an event that I, and probably you, care nothing about whatsoever. It was the Met Gala in New York City. This of course is an event in which people largely with their nose up in the air go to get photographed, look and feel important, and to pretend to care about, I don't know, art and culture I suppose.
Now the only reason I initially even knew anything about this is while randomly browsing Reddit I saw a picture of AOC, Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez, wearing a dress that said "Tax The Rich" on the back. Keep in mind that for AOC to even get into this event she would have had to have bought a ticket for $35,000. So in essence, she is saying to tax herself. Which I'm sure of course she doesn't mean. But events like this are not about meaning anything except trying to look important and send the right message to all of the people you want to like you.
Now, the other more relevant thing that surrounded this event was that to attend you were supposed to not only pay $35,000 but because we continue to be in the midst of a "pandemic" that they never intend to solve, cure, or have end, everyone was supposed to wear a mask and social distance. Guess what essentially no one (in all likelihood) who paid $35,000 to attend did? Naturally wear a mask and social distance.
This from Breitbart, whom I essentially haven't taken seriously since they went full Trump and I ditched partisan politics and other than watching events pretty much politics altogether. But, what this article does show, despite the partisan slant, is that these people are all hypocrites and again the rules they say we have to follow, they do not. By and large, they will not.
Oh, and those executive orders that President Biden signed saying federal employees must get vaccinated? Guess who it turns out is exempt and that order does not apply to? The entire legislative and judicial branches! Now, I guess, if one is going to sign an executive order than it stands to reason that said order and power perhaps would not apply to the other two branches of the federal government. However, here again we have an inequality under the law. Which, technically of course an executive order is not a law. But it's an inequality and a tremendous double standard.
So now, if you're watching, and hopefully you are, then also hopefully it dawned on you long ago actually that this is not remotely about health. First of all, it's still a virus with at best a 1%-2% fatality rate so all of this is not only over the top and harmful but it's completely unnecessary from a health perspective. But second, if it were about health, then the same rules would apply to everyone and everyone would be doing their best to follow them.
They say that character is best seen in the dark. In other words, one shows the type of person they are when they don't believe anyone is watching. So too is leadership I believe best seen in the dark in terms of always trying to set an example. What we see over and over again is so many of these people who want to lecture and place mandates upon us display a distinct lack of both when they believe no one is watching.
So hey, politicians, social media and techies, reporters, corporate CEO's, hospital administrators and CEO's, and everyone else can make a choice still. You can choose to align with the ways of this world and the evil forces guiding all of those who are destined to be burned away, figuratively and perhaps even literally when the rudiments of this world are done away with. So you can all be losers for temporary, worldly gains that you can't take with you and will put you even on a one way track to hell perhaps. Or you can stand for what is clearly true and just and you can stand as well with and for God Himself and secure eternal life from the One who can and has already given it through Jesus Christ. That eternal life is a heck of a lot more rewarding than anything man can dream up with his latest attempt at another Tower of Babel.
Your choice people.
